Individual therapy, or psychotherapy, offers a confidential space to explore the various obstacles to your having the life you want. The specific goals in individual psychotherapy vary by client. They may include: managing difficult thoughts and emotions, gaining control over difficult urges and impulses, working through trauma, to discover yourself and your voice, and so much more. Each client’s individual therapist works with him/her to set goals and design an approach that is tailored to the specific concerns and situations presented. We use a number of different approaches, including DBT, CBT, mindfulness based therapy, ACT, cognitive processing for trauma, Prolonged exposure, and psychodynamic and integrative techniques.
